Kickoff Tactics April 2026 Patch Notes – V0.19 Balance Changes Explained

Kickoff Tactics has dropped its April 2026 update (version 0.19), and it brings a handful of balance updates to six cards. Here’s everything that changed and what it might mean for the meta:

Nouhou has received a significant buff, jumping from 1/1 to 1/3. However, his ability now comes with a real downside – if you have no other Cameroonian players in play, he receives a Red Card. He’s gone from a throwaway low-cost card to a build-around that rewards Cameroonian nationality synergy decks.

Thomas Meunier has changed quite significantly. His stats move from 2/4 to 3/3, making him more expensive but slightly less powerful on raw numbers. His ability now grants +2 Power to one of your Belgian cards in play, giving him a clear home in any Belgian-themed builds.

Valeriy Bondar‘s power has been substantially nerfed, dropping from 3/6 to 3/3 – that’s a loss of 3 Power for the same cost. However, he now has a powerful Active ability – dealing -1 Power to the opposing side of his zone for each Ukrainian card in play – but will need more Ukrainian support cards to justify his slot.

Ryan Gauld takes a minor nerf, going from 3/5 to 3/4, but now has the ability to draw a FW card on appearance. He could be a useful addition to forward-heavy decks, despite the slight power reduction.

Mohamed El Shenawy has been reworked. Previously a Base 1/2, he’s now 1/1 but gains +5 Power when you have at least 3 other Egyptian cards in play. If an Egyptian synergy deck becomes viable, he would be very strong.

Hamdi stays at 1/1 but now has the ability to draw an Egyptian card on appearance. He’s a natural companion to El Shenawy, providing both draw and the nationality count needed to trigger El Shenawy’s buff.

Meta takeaway: This patch appears to be the first step in nudging the game toward nationality-based synergy decks. Egyptian builds in particular look the most viable with El Shenawy and Hamdi working together. Bondar’s change could help Ukrainian stacks, and Belgian decks get a small boost via Meunier’s rework.

In addition to these balance changes, we’ve also got:

  • A new animation for Jarrod Bowen
  • A Gameplay Update that now sees you score a minimum of 3 goals if your opponent concedes, that count towards Champion Pass progression
  • Profile UI improvements
  • Ability to search players by Country
