Champion Pass Guide: Tomas Araujo & Ayyoub Bouaddi – All Rewards Explained

A new Champion Pass has landed in Kickoff Tactics, and this season’s two new cards are Portugal and Benfica defender Tomas Araujo and Morocco and Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. Both bring genuinely interesting abilities that could carve out real meta relevance — here’s the full breakdown of the reward trail, what free players get, and whether Premium is worth your money this time around.

What Is the Champion Pass?

The Champion Pass is Kickoff Tactics’ seasonal premium pass. It features a 40-level reward trail that you progress through by playing matches and scoring goals.

There are two tiers of reward:

  • Free — available to every player at no cost, just by playing
  • Premium — unlocked with a one-time purchase of £8.99 in the UK (pricing may vary in other regions)

Purchasing the Premium pass gives you access to both the Premium and Free rewards at every level. Free players only receive the levels explicitly marked as Free.

Premium pass holders also receive a golden name and avatar frame for the rest of the season, plus a brand-new card back exclusive to this pass.

The Two New Cards

Tomas Araujo — 3 Cost | 2 Power | DF

“On Appear: Sets all cards here to their Base Power.”

Don’t be fooled by the modest stats — Araujo’s ability is one of the most disruptive in the game. The moment he lands in a zone, every card there, yours and your opponent’s, is immediately stripped back to its base Power value. Any buffs, bonuses, or power-ups accumulated in that zone are wiped clean in an instant.

The tactical implications are significant. If your opponent has been stacking power into a key zone — through abilities, tactics, or zone effects — Araujo erases that investment for just 3 cost. He’s a surgical reset button: efficient enough to include without warping your energy curve, but capable of swinging an entire zone in your favour when deployed at the right moment.

He’s at his most dangerous when your opponent has already committed resources to a zone and is relying on buffed power to win it. Drop Araujo late, strip everything back to base, and suddenly that zone is up for grabs again. He’s also a natural counter to any power-snowball strategy where a card like Adam Wharton has been building up stacks over multiple turns — one Araujo and all that accumulated power is gone.

Ayyoub Bouaddi — 3 Cost | 3 Power | MF

“Active: Your card costs can’t be increased and your opponent’s card costs can’t be reduced.”

Bouaddi is a control piece disguised as a 3-cost midfielder. His Active ability locks the cost landscape of the game: while he’s in play, your costs stay exactly where they are — no zone effects or opponent abilities can inflate them — and at the same time, your opponent can’t benefit from any cost reductions either.

This double-sided effect is more powerful than it might first appear. Some of the most impactful abilities in Kickoff Tactics revolve around manipulating energy costs — reducing costs to flood the board, or increasing opponent costs to slow them down. Bouaddi shuts both directions down simultaneously. Your energy curve stays predictable, your opponent’s discount strategies stop working, and the game becomes a straight contest of power and positioning.

At 3 cost he’s accessible enough to slot into almost any midfield without disrupting your formation. He won’t win zones on stats alone, but as a passive ability that runs the entire time he’s on the pitch, his effect accumulates quietly across every remaining turn.

Is the Champion Pass Worth £8.99?

The case for buying:

This might be one of the more interesting passes from a pure ability standpoint. Araujo’s zone reset is the kind of effect that gets better as the game’s card pool grows and power-stacking strategies become more prevalent — at 3 cost he’s a cheap, direct counter to some of the strongest cards in the current meta. Bouaddi’s cost-lock ability is equally useful in a meta where energy manipulation is one of the most common vectors for gaining advantage.

Two low-cost, high-ability cards that address real meta challenges, 75 duplicates to start upgrading both immediately, plus the full pack and currency bundle — at £8.99 that’s solid value for any regular player.

The case for skipping:

Neither card wins zones on raw stats. Araujo at 3 cost / 2 Power and Bouaddi at 3 cost / 3 Power are pure ability pieces — if the meta you’re playing in doesn’t heavily feature power-buffing or cost manipulation, their effects may be less impactful than they look on paper. Both cards reward a specific style of reactive, control-minded play; if you prefer putting power on the board and winning zones outright, they may not suit your approach.

Free players still walk away with five packs including a Prestige Pack, 425 Coins and 125 Cash purely for playing.

The verdict:

For control and counter-meta players, this is a pass worth picking up. Araujo in particular has the hallmarks of a card that quietly becomes more valuable over time as opponents find more ways to stack power — and getting him with 25 instant upgrades is a head start that matters. At £8.99 for two genuinely disruptive cards with 75 duplicates between them, the value is there.
