A new Champion Pass has landed in Kickoff Tactics, and this season goes fully Greek; Acropolis backdrop, Greek flag motifs, and a new “Odyssey” card back to match. The two headline cards are Greece centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos and Greece attacking midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas, and both lean into skill mechanics rather than raw stats. The reward trail has also been reshuffled compared to last season – no duplicates on offer this time, a much earlier card back unlock, and a bonus emote reward that wasn’t there before. Here’s the full breakdown.
What Is the Champion Pass?
The Champion Pass is Kickoff Tactics’ seasonal premium pass. It features a 40-level reward trail that you progress through by playing matches and scoring goals, running for 30 days per season.
There are two tiers of reward:
- Free — available to every player at no cost, just by playing
- Premium — unlocked with a one-time purchase of £8.99 in the UK (pricing may vary in other regions)
Purchasing Premium gives you access to both the Premium and Free rewards at every level. Free players only receive the levels explicitly marked as Free.
Premium pass holders also receive a golden name and avatar frame for the rest of the season, on top of the reward trail itself.
The Two New Cards
Konstantinos Mavropanos — 3 Cost | 3 Power | DF
“Gives -1 Power to an opponent’s marked card at the end of each turn.”
Mavropanos is built to work alongside your deck’s Marking cards, not on his own. As a reminder, Marking stops a targeted card from gaining any power-ups for as long as marker and target stay in the same zone — but it doesn’t touch the power that card already has. Mavropanos closes that gap. Once something in his zone is marked, he chips one Power off it every single turn the mark holds, turning a passive lockdown into an active shrink.
The longer a marked card sits in the same zone as Mavropanos, the worse it gets for your opponent — a big power threat that’s been marked for three or four turns can be whittled down to a fraction of its printed stats by the time goals are counted. He’s at his best in decks that already run a Marking piece early, giving Mavropanos multiple turns to grind a key threat down before Round 4 or Round 8. On his own, without anything marked nearby, he’s just a serviceable 3-cost, 3-power defender — the ability only does work once your deck sets it up for him.
Konstantinos Karetsas — 5 Cost | 5 Power | MF
“On Appear: Your opponent’s highest-Power cards get a yellow card.”
Karetsas hits the Booking mechanic directly. In Kickoff Tactics, a card that picks up two yellow cards gets booked with a red — stripping it of its abilities and its power entirely. Karetsas hands out a yellow the moment he lands, and he targets whichever of your opponent’s cards currently has the highest Power, which is exactly the card they least want to lose.
The real damage comes from pairing him with any other Booking source in your deck. If the opponent’s strongest card has already picked up a yellow earlier in the match, Karetsas’s Appear trigger is the second booking — an instant red card and a dead threat on the board. Even used alone, a free yellow card on the opponent’s best piece is useful pressure, since it puts them one incident away from losing that card’s abilities for the rest of the game. At 5 Cost and 5 Power he’s also a genuinely strong body in his own right, so he’s not purely a combo piece — he holds a zone respectably even if the Booking never completes.
(Both cards are locked behind this Champion Pass — there’s no free-to-earn route to either one this season, same as with Araujo and Bouaddi last time.)
What’s Changed This Season
Before the full trail, here’s what’s different compared to last month’s pass:
- No duplicate cards. Last season’s Premium track included 25 Araujo duplicates and 50 Bouaddi duplicates for instant upgrades. Those slots are gone this time — Level 13 and Level 40 now give alternate “New Look” skins for Mavropanos and Karetsas instead. If you’re chasing upgrade fodder for the new cards, you’ll need to earn it through normal play rather than the pass itself.
- The card back unlocks much earlier. Last season’s exclusive card back sat at Level 26. This season’s “Odyssey” card back is at Level 16 — over a week’s worth of progress earlier for most players.
- Level 26 is now a bonus emote. Where the card back used to sit, this pass instead gives Premium players a collectible “Magic” emote for their account.
- A free reward for a card outside the pass. Level 21 (Free) now gives a new cosmetic look for Neto, a forward who isn’t otherwise featured in this Champion Pass at all. Last season’s Level 21 was a “WHAT?!” emote instead.
- The Basic Pack at Level 5 moved to the Free track. It was a Premium-only reward last season.
Net effect: this pass leans more cosmetic — three separate “New Look” alternate skins across the trail, an earlier card back, and an extra emote — and less about instantly upgrading the two new cards. If your priority was duplicates to fast-track Mavropanos or Karetsas, this season won’t give you that head start.

Is the Champion Pass Worth £8.99?
The case for buying:
Both cards are genuinely interesting skill pieces rather than pure stat sticks. Mavropanos turns any Marking card in your deck into a slow-burn power drain, and Karetsas puts direct pressure on the booking system by targeting your opponent’s best card the moment he lands — pairing him with even one other Booking source can turn a strong opposing card into a dead one instantly. At 3 Cost / 3 Power and 5 Cost / 5 Power respectively, both also hold their own on stats alone, which wasn’t quite true of last season’s Araujo and Bouaddi. A full pack bundle and an earlier card back unlock round out solid value for £8.99.
The case for skipping:
If you value duplicates to progress on the Collection Path!
In all seriousness, Mavropanos also does very little without a Marking card already in your deck to set him up, so his value depends heavily on what else you’re running. Karetsas is more self-sufficient, but his ceiling is tied to how many other Booking sources you own.
Free players still walk away with seven packs, 730 combined currency, and a bonus cosmetic for Neto, purely for playing.
The verdict:
For anyone already running Marking or Booking pieces, this is a strong Champion Pass — Mavropanos and Karetsas both plug directly into those mechanics rather than sitting beside them, and Karetsas in particular is a real threat against high-power decks the moment he hits the board. If you don’t employ either mechanic, they’re still solid bodies for their cost, just without the extra upside. At £8.99 for two skill-driven Greek internationals plus the full pack bundle, this is worth picking up if Marking or Booking already feature in your deck.
